About Susanne Winter

I was born in Berlin and grew up in a family of musicians.

At the age of sixteen, I discovered my passion for singing. After my first years of vocal training, I pursued my studies in classical concert and opera singing in the USA and Munich.

At the beginning of my career, I devoted myself primarily to the concert stage. I had the privilege of performing at the Leipzig Bach Festival, Vienna's Musikverein, the Ludwigsburg Festival, the Ansbach Bach Week, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, and in many of Munich's leading concert halls.

Opera soon became an equally important part of my artistic life. Invited by the renowned mezzo-soprano Brigitte Fassbaender,

I joined the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, where I performed roles including Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Fiorilla (Il turco in Italia) and Titania (A Midsummer Night's Dream).

As I gradually realized that my own artistic path was leading me away from the structures of today's opera world, I chose to focus on concerts and independent opera productions and teaching.

At the same time, my search for a more natural and authentic approach to the voice gradually evolved into what is now the Appoggio Method.
