SUSANNE WINTER
SOPRANO
- From searching to finding -
As a teenager, singing was my bag: I felt authentic, whole, enthusiastic. I sang naturally - with open senses and an open soul. Over the years of studying voice, however, I lost this sensual connectedness and the joy. So I went on the „search for the missing passion and fulfillment“. The main treasures and insights along that adventurous path are the cornerstones of the appoggio-method.
"Appoggiare" is Italian and means "to lean on". It expresses the idea of letting the voice lean and rest on the diaphragm unit, instead of supporting it. This changed my understanding of sound production completely and thus of all vocal parameters. I realized that I had rediscovered a lost secret of the old (Italian) masters, which I completed with new scientific insights of anatomy, natural reflexes and the nervous system.
I really believe that this method could revolutionize the singing world.
