About Susanne Winter
Susanne Winter was born in Berlin (Germany) and grew up in a family of musicians. She started taking voice lessons at the age of 16 and decided to pursue studies in classical singing, first in the USA and then in Munich (Germany). Although having worked with several renowned voice teachers, Daniel Süsstrunk (Munich) and Johannes Romuald (Vienna) were her most important vocal inspirations.
In the beginning of her career, the soprano sang mainly concerts and recitals at diverse international festivals in Europe and abroad, i.e. the Bachfestival Leipzig, the Ludwigsburg Festival, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Teatro Colòn in Buenos Aires.
The stage however became an ever stronger calling - the singer therefore gladly accepted the engagement to the Innsbruck opera house by Brigitte Fassbaender.
In the following years Susanne Winter sang many roles of the lyrical and coloratura repertory: Britten’s Tytania (Midsummer Night’s Dream), Mozart’s Queen of the Night and Pamina, Konstanze, Contessa, Donna Anna, the Sophie in „Rosenkavalier“ as well as several Italian operas Giulietta (Capuleti e Montecchi), Fiorilla (Turco in Italia). Realizing that the opera business is not the place for authentic singing and being, the
soprano focused on independent opera productions, concerts and developing the Appoggio Method.
For many years Susanne Winter has been working with the pianist Afrodite Stein-Stylianidou. Besides recitals and concerts, the duo offers voice academies for professional singers and enthusiastic amateurs.

Vivaldi’s Psalm 112 gave the soprano the opportunity to show all facets of her artistic skills . She was brilliant in every moment. Especially impressive is how this singer masters most difficult passages with apparent ease and effortlessness.
